CNM "Construction Notes Manager" Tutorial - Quick Start

Creating a Master Notes File

Inserting Key Notes

Importing Key Notes Table

Tip:
To help facilitate selection of the *.not files it is normally best to open the drawing you wish to run the tally in using Windows Explorer.  Or set the folder on your desktop so that the folder you are wishing to select is the one that it defaults to.  Otherwise you will have to "navigate" through your computer's folders to get to each *.not file.

4.  The program will then give the following prompt:   List which notes from CONSTNOT.TXT? All/Used
Type U for inserting all of the used construction notes.
The program will then prompt: Upper left point for notes and quantities tally table:
Select a point on the drawing where the upper left point of the table would be and hit enter.  Once selected, the program will import all of the construction notes, each note's corresponding bubble, and the total quantity of the plan set.

5.  The program also creates a csv file (comma delimited file) which is named the same as the drawing file. In this example it will create a file called Cover plan with no extension. However, this file can be opened with Excel, Quattro Pro, or other spreadsheet program to use in preparing budgets, cost estimates, or in back checking the plans for quality control. See Figure 8.1 The csv file shows all of the used construction notes broken down on a sheet by sheet basis, including the quantities per each sheet and the total plan set quantity.
